What about Herb Gardens?
This is a fairly simple plastic herb garden you can purchase from several stores that have a gardening section for about $70.00. We have planted Oregano, Basil, Chives, Thyme, Curry plant, Garlic, and Strawberries. This one works fine and does well. The advantage of this is if you are cooking and want some fresh herbs, you simply go out to your own backyard and pick them. How fresh is that!
Parsley in a pot. For herbs that you may use a lot of, we have planted in a larger pot. We have had this one for several years, and it only needs an occasional re-pot and trim.
Tip!  The result you get from your pot garden depends to a large extent on the quality of the soil you put into your pots. I buy a good quality potting mix and add chook poo from cleaning my hen house. Allow it to sit for a week or so as the chook poo can burn if it’s fresh.
